DTR Industries Selects IFS Applications » The TEC Blog
is reportedly replacing Infor ERP LX (formerly BPCS ) as part of a global rollout, which means that DTR has implemented IFS at other sites, and the company is looking to use IFS in the future in other countries as well. This transaction was for the company’s US and Mexico locations, and based on the success of IFS at the other locations the choice came down to implementing IFS or keeping Infor (as DTR didn’t feel it necessary to open it up to multiple vendors). I think this is a positive sign for IFS

Enterprise Applications through Personalized Assembly
Traditionally, software is packaged as a product with rigid functionality with change only possible through the vendor s release plans, or by developing custom solutions from the ground-up. This results in high lead times, high total cost of ownership, and challenging maintenance issues. However, software assembly allows solutions to be constructed from a mix of existing and newly built components that are stored in a repository or library.

Given the several dozen Infor software assets that will require their own on-ramps, one can imagine the magnitude of the still outstanding development work when it comes to Infor Open SOA. Oracle Applications - An Internet-Reinvented Feisty Challenger
It is startling how much has changed in Oracle’s applications business during the last two years. Oracle is indisputably the most reformed applications vendor, having achieved significant growth in total revenue, license revenue and net income.
