SOA as a Foundation for Applications and Infrastructure
SOA promises interoperability in the heterogeneous business world by promoting loosely-coupled architecture, reusing software, and ending vendor-dependency. However, to be viable, dominant vendors must redesign and expose the hundreds of application functions as services. How are they meeting this challenge?

ERP COMPUTER BUSINESS APPLICATIONS: in early 2006. The ERP giant intends to publish a Java-based software development kit (SDK) to help outside application providers tap into its products. This strategy represents quite a shift for the SAP s long, drawn-out conventional mindset and culture, which has for over three decades had a not invented here attitude shunning outside influence. It will now provide a development platform and rely on other software vendors and its corporate customers to influence the direction of its products. Paolini

The Tricky Enterprise Applications Needs of Plastics Producers
General enterprise resource planning (ERP) providers, even those which are viable companies with a solid product, typically do not meet the tricky requirements that are vital to the plastics industry and related so-called mill or material converter businesses.
