Selecting PLM Software Solutions
Past experience shows us that the vast majority of enterprise technology evaluations run over time and budget, and once selected, the majority of the implementations fail to meet functional, return on investment (ROI) and total cost of ownership (TCO) expectations. Enterprise technology selections for ERP, CRM, SCM, and other enterprise applications provide valuable lessons that can be applied to selecting PLM software, but there are some key differences that need to be recognized.

ERP BUSINESS SOLUTIONS GROUP: a complete PLM solution. ERP selections are typically run as a one-time selection process to find an integrated solution. Business Flexibility
Organizations wanting to create a more flexible, responsive environment to support their business processes must consider removing the process dependencies from the underlying hardware and software infrastructure. Business Intelligence Success, Lessons Learned
Is business intelligence (BI) an application that pays off? We have all heard mixed results but a 2003 extensive study on on-line analytical processing (OLAP) states that BI usually pays off over 60 percent of the time , explains where the value is found, and describes what’s required to get the pay off.

ERP BUSINESS SOLUTIONS GROUP: a common opinion on ERP and SCM software is that they generate too much data. BI allows this data to be analyzed to bring forward the most important aspects of the data. Certain application areas are more widespread than others. The most common applications areas for BI are General data warehouse reporting Sales and marketing analysis Planning and forecasting Financial consolidation Statutory reporting Budgeting Profitability analysis Challenges The implementation of a BI project is not without

Talarian and NextSet Team for B2B Solutions
NextSet Software has formed an alliance with EAI vendor Talarian Corporation to incorporate Talarian SmartSockets middleware technology into NextSet’s Evolution Business-to-Business platform and Internet exchange applications. This is yet another entry by an EAI vendor into the ever more crowded B2B market space.

ERP BUSINESS SOLUTIONS GROUP: Impact Once again, an enterprise application integration vendor has seen the growing market for integrated business-to-business exchanges and is looking for a place at the table. Undoubtedly, other EAI software houses will be closely examining this new product and using what they learn to catch up quickly. The EAI and B2B markets are moving at such a rapid pace that the keep up or die syndrome has set in with a vengeance. This development coincides with announcements by webMethods , Tibco , and other

Integrated Solutions: Look Before You Leap
When it comes to integrated enterprise systems, functionality is not exactly unimportant, but it needs to be combined within a fairly simple-to-use application set that actually gets used rather than languishes on the shelf.

ERP BUSINESS SOLUTIONS GROUP: working from within the ERP system. The knowledge of data structures and business logic is inherent. Namely, the tight integrated nature of the product and high
