Teck Cominco Ltd.’s Trail Operations
To store its wealth of transactional data, Trail Operations employs an ERP solution comprised of JDEdwards, Process Data Historian (PDH) and EtQ systems. To ensure proactive rather than reactive business decisions, it is imperative that management at Trail Operations have reliable and timely access to this data. While their ERP solution met all of management’s data capture requirements, its cumbersome reporting capabilities proved inhibitive to providing the key performance indicator (KPI) information necessary for quickly recognizing trends and driving improvements.

Reducing the Cost of Systems Operations
Reducing the Cost of Systems Operations.IT White Papers and Other White Papers Related to Reducing the Cost of Systems Operations. Disintermediation is the process of removing redundant intermediaries from a systems management infrastructure. Once vital to systems monitoring, proprietary agents are now made largely redundant by native management tools, emerging standards and agentless monitoring architectures. Centauri makes disintermediation possible by providing a low-cost event management solution that unifies performance data and event messages under a common umbrella. This paper describes how you can take advantage of the disintermediation opportunity and minimize the risks of migrating from working proprietary data collectors to a new native-agent based solution.

EAM LEAN OPERATIONS: you have the same seamlessly integrated management infrastructure that you have with your proprietary management tools - such as Unicenter and PATROL - but at a fraction of the acquisition and maintenance costs. However, disintermediation is not a panacea and organizations embarking on such a strategy need to be careful not to throw the baby out with the bath water . Proprietary management tools continue to have their place, particularly in more mission-critical applications where large volumes of

Global Materials Management Operations Guideline/Logistics Evaluation (MMOG/LE)
The MMOG was a self-assessment process developed by the Automotive Industry Action Group (AIAG) to provide consistent methodology for evaluating supplier performance, identifying weaknesses, and focusing improvement efforts. The Global MMOG/LE incorporates the Odette Logistics Evaluation (OLE), developed by AIAG’s European counterpart, to provide a single global standard for self-assessment. The MMOG is a proven tool for supplier development and provides a recognized industry standard for suppliers who have been asked by customers to complete a self-assessment. Although it was developed by the automotive industry, QAD believes it can be a helpful benchmark tool for customers across many verticals.

Sales and Operations Planning: The Key to Continuous Demand Satisfaction
Sales And Operations Planning: The Key To Continuous Demand Satisfaction. Search for Data and Other Software to Define Your System Related to a Continuous Demand Satisfaction. All companies use some form of sales and operations planning (S&OP) to synchronize market data with production output. But most practice a planning process based on logistics rather than strategy. Taking a more strategic approach, however, the S&OP process can be designed to bring together a company’s marketing, finance, sales, and operations departments to continuously monitor—and meet—customer demand.

EAM LEAN OPERATIONS: quickly, hampering collaboration, while team members get frustrated trying to piece together the picture of the company from faxed or e-mailed spreadsheets. The consequences of this approach can be costly and far-reaching, for some of the following reasons. Product supply and the market are not reconciled . Repeated stock-outs cause distributors to switch to other manufacturers for the same product. Distributors show little mercy in making up for any slowdown in getting stock through their pipeline.

Lean Operations: Software Strategies for Manufacturing s New Normal
Throughout the 2000s, manufacturers were giving up on Lean. A “build it and we can sell it” attitude was adopted. Manufacturers responded to the 2008 economic collapse with aggressive cuts to inventory and head count. The worst is over. This research examines what’s changed and how to intelligently ramp up production and inventory, with an eye towards recapturing core Lean principles while also adopting a new technology.
