It’s About Process (or the Ability to be Responsive) -- Part IV » The TEC Blog
Based on the entered data via a customized form, the return is authorized or denied. Namely, a default assignee reviews a request and approves it, rejects it, or asks the customer for additional clarifications. Upon authorization, when the goods are received a case gets assigned to the quality assurance (QA) team. This is another “gate review” step in the process where the quality team determines if the failure is due to a product defect or misuse (user-induced damage). If a case is determined to be

This article defines process manufacturing; discusses its formulation, packaging, and pricing issues; talks about interfaces; and provides cautions and caveats.

DATA WAREHOUSE PROCESS ILM: is the matter of data conversion. Regardless of whether you are converting from process or discrete manufacturing software, conversion can be a daunting, time-consuming task. While this conversion can be automated, the programming and testing will probably take longer that a manual conversion. Process Manufacturers--Great Batch, Every Batch
If you run one hundred batches, some will be great, some will be terrible. But what causes some to be great and some to be terrible? Knowing the answer to that question can mean no more terrible batches, many more great ones, and making more money.

DATA WAREHOUSE PROCESS ILM: tracking and comparing the data from each batch. If we could understand the correlation between the batch ranking and these variables, we could identify the conditions that produce a desirable (or undesirable!) outcome. We could stop making terrible batches and make a lot more great batches (and improve many of the batches in-between.) This results in improved profitability, as shown in figure 3. Figure 3 Collect, Analyze, Monitor, and Predict The more information we have, the better our analysis will

An Analyst s View of Process Industry SMB Challenges
Process manufacturing industries have distinct needs from an enterprise resource planning (ERP) system. Here’s an overview of what process manufacturing requires from an ERP solution, including business intelligence capabilities.

DATA WAREHOUSE PROCESS ILM: extra capabilities that provide data for BI functionalities. The dynamics are such that this data is often industry-oriented (food versus chemical). ERP systems need to provide dashboards providing what-if scenarios to allow the manufacturer to improve competitiveness, while avoiding the cost of a full BI/BPM operational group. Finally, a pure process ERP product has quantitative variables with large variations in values, leading to statistically large standard deviations. Statistical analysis for
